Log

Bangkok & Ayutthaya
Thailand
A week moving between the chaos of Bangkok and the ancient temple ruins of Ayutthaya. Ate everything, explored Buddhist temples, and found some genuinely great thrift finds in Thai malls — a surprise highlight.

Shanghai, Chengdu, Beijing & Xi'an
China
Four cities, four completely different registers of China. The Great Wall at dawn, terracotta warriors standing in formation, the Forbidden City's scale — and the unexpected warmth of strangers in Chengdu's teahouses.

Key West
Florida Keys, USA
Escaped the New England winter with a trip to the end of the road. Live music on Duval Street, that specific golden-hour light over the water, and the kind of family time that only happens when everyone's far from home.

Coastal Taiwan
Taiwan
Toured Taiwan's coast eating constantly — night market scallion pancakes, pineapple cakes, beef noodle soup. Met other young travelers doing the same thing and ended up spending days together exchanging stories and languages.
Budapest & the Countryside
Hungary
Reconnecting with family and language. Hungarian grammar — with its 18 grammatical cases — makes every sentence feel like a small engineering problem. Folk dancing in the village square at dusk.
